Amit Shah called by court in Kodnani case

AHMEDABAD: The SIT court hearing the 2002 Naroda Gam massacre case on Tuesday issued a witness summons to BJP president Amit Shah on the application of former Gujarat minister Maya Kodnani to examine him in her defence to establish her alibi. Kodnani is a key accused in the riots case.
Special judge P B Desai issued summons for Shah to depose on September 18 and said that the court will not grant any further time for his examination.The summons has been issued to Shah’s address in Thaltej area in Ahmedabad, and Kodnani has to serve it on Shah, said her advocate Amit Patel. The court order reads, “Witness summons be issued as prayed for it. It is made clear that as desired by it, defence can effect direct service. No further time would be granted.”
